The Fastest Kiss - part four

In the next day, he contacts a friend that works with pharmaceutical development and analysis:
- Hey John, how are you? I need a big favour from you. You see, I have sort of a medicine with me, and I want you to analyse it for me.
- Sure, it’ll be done in a day or so.
“I can’t wait a whole day to know it. I think I’ll test it myself.” thought Thomas. Then it comes up to his mind this idea. He has bought a hamster to participate on his little experiment, then has weight the pill, has done some proportional equations to give the correct amount of the drug to the little rodent, without killing it, then mixed it with water, giving the moisture to the animal.
It was quite of a view, a doctor entering the hospital with a hamster cage under his arm. The receptionist had stopped him.
- Thomas, what are you doing with this animal?
- Hi, this is a gift to my nephew. Since I can’t leave it alone at home, may you watch it for me while I’m working? I would really appreciate if you do that for me.
- Ok.
- Thank you very much! Here is some pet food.
It was a regular, although very long day for Thomas in the hospital. Suddenly, the receptionist bips him.
- So, what’s going on?
- Your hamster is dead.
- What? How come? – Thomas said, trying to fake surprise.
- It had drunk all the water, and then had started spinning in his wheel, and after some time, he passed out. It was funny actually, because the wheel was spinning with it rolling unconscious inside.
- Damn! Let me get rid of it. – He said, taking it to the trash, and thinking of how tragic it could’ve been if given to humans.
Waiting for the test’s results was terrifying. When John called him, he was absolutely nervous.
- Tell me John, what do you have discovered?
- Thomas, this drug contains a powerful neurotransmitter substance, which induces a massive brain activity.
- Is it fatal?
- Only if you are a small mammal. This pill can’t kill a man, unless if you take a bunch of them, having an overdose.
- I’ve tested it in a hamster, and even with a controlled dosing, it has died.
- That’s because their excretory system is very sensitive. What probably has happened was a failure of that system, and it couldn’t filter its blood anymore, dying intoxicated. I’ll send you my complete report soon.
- Thank you, John, you’ve been tremendously helpful. I owe you one.
- It was my pleasure. Don’t be a stranger, see you then.
Obviously, Thomas’s plans were to wake up his sleepy friend, now with this drug, and a confirmed low probability of death, he could make it happen. He grabs a pill, mixes it with serum, put it in a needle, and injects it in the woman’s vein.
